The White Glove Tracking Project

by Josh Kimball

The White Glove Tracking Project, a crowdsourced datamining endeavour to record the location of Michael Jackson’s white glove in all 10,060 frames of the Billie Jean video, is complete.

What will be done with this information, with the white glove’s elusive, long-sought, frame-by-frame location? The WGTP is encouraging people to share their own innovative ways of visualizing this important data.

Check out this, one of the first videos to come of the project.

And another, correlating the speed of the music with the relative height of the glove and appropriately titled Speed v. Height is quite good as well.

Gallery of vizzies and movies (hope there will be a lot of them rolling in!) here. [via]
